970 sli vs 980

I don't know whether to get one 980 gtx or 2 970s. I plan on playing games like Far Cry 4, Watchdogs, GTA 5 all on ultra with the highest settings with 60+ fps on a 1080p 1ms 144hz monitor.
My current build is
Amd fx 8350
Gigabyte 990fxa ud3
8gb ram corsair
750 Watt power supply corsair
1tb Seagate barracuda
128 gb ssd Crucial
Current graphics card is a evga 770gtx 4gb

I'd just get another GTX 770, two of them make a beast of a machine.

But if it has to be maxwell, then twin 970 SLIs i'd get. So you get around 80+fps so you can take advantage of your monitors high refresh rate.

Yeah if your going to upgrade definitely two 970s will help. Work's great for me.

Not all games support SLI or crossfire and SLIing the 970 will give you stuttering and youll spend over 700$ while getting a single 980 for 500$ does not stutter and It only has 14-20% less performance than the 970 sli If I were you I would save the 200$ and overclock the 980 give a little more preformance
