So I was using a gtx 970 with no issues. My system is ecs h61h2-m2 with a i5 3470, 16gb ddr3 1600 RAM.

I literally just swapped cards since the Nvidia drivers are already installed and plug the monitor, restart pc and it won’t get past bios screen...fans are spinning and keyboard doesn’t work now for some reason.

I took out card and restarted pc on the built in hdmi on the mobo and windows starts fine.

I seen other people with this issue and all the solutions were to flash bios so of course the 1 bios utility I downloaded doesn’t fully update the bios and now the manufacturers website has been taken down...no access to any other info or bios roms etc...check for yourself the ECS website is gone...

Please I would appreciate some help

Since there haven’t been any suggestions yet I would like to add in a little more info that may or may not help.

I just received another used h61 mobo, an MSI model. I hooked up the same psu and cpu to the board and it goes on a power on and off loop... since I can’t even get to the bios screen on this mobo it probably isn’t much help but I thought I should just add this in case it gave any clues to the issue on the first mobo. Since the exact same PSU, CPU and RAM work on the first board I guess it rules out those components and brings us right back to the gtx 1080 though

Thanks, ill give that a try but switching a Nvidia card for another Nvidia card while using recent GeForce drivers should be a simple, no issue swap...lets just hope this does it.

Hi DamienSicks,

If the PC is booting without any GPU its pointing to either a power or driver issue, if we include the other MOBO you tested its looks to be a power issue, but we'll rule out drivers first. Boot using your onboard graphics like you have done in windows safemode and use DDU https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html to remove all Nvidia drivers and restart, then download the most recent drivers from here https://www.geforce.co.uk/drivers then install your GPU.

Let us know how that goes first then if that doesn't work we can try other things before moving onto the power.
