Hi all, this is my fist post here so take it easy, I realise I may not be at the top end of the market, but i'm not far off.

Well, my problem is this.

I purchased a Radeon (Sapphire) 9700 pro about 2 weeks ago, second hand, its the old version with the ATI sticker on it, so its pretty old indeed. It's been working fine, I installed one of those Artic VGA Silencer coolers to quieten the fan down a bit, this worked fine for about a week.

So now, I went out and left the computer on, idle, screen in stand-by and when I returned it had rebooted and wouldn't POST. Now, what i'm wondering is, have I broken the thing? Has it over heated? I get no signal to the monitor (which works fine on my friends laptop). The Artic cooler has been on for a week or so, and has been run through a few hours of gaming, so thought it was ok...

Well, if anyone has any suggestions then i'd be grateful, someone has suggested it may be the hard drive, which is also brand new.

Thanks, Rob M.

Have you tried using another video card to see if the ATI is the problem here?
