My new rig has the following relevant specs:

i7 9700k
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
ASRock Phantom, SLI-AC z390
Phanteks P300 case with 3 fans (Intake fans at top and front, exhaust fan in the rear)
Seasonic Focus Gold 650W

I am concerned about thermals. I am hitting the mid 80s @ 4.6 GHZ in blender. I was hitting similar temps in Prime 95 blend. The machine is not (and never will be) overclocked. Should I do anything to try to reduce core temps? Is it possible that I didn't use enough thermal compound? Should I look into a liquid cooler? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

No, just get a better air cooler, the 212 is NOT that great.

Any one of these would be a lot better.

Sorry that I forgot to mention that BIOS settings are bone stock after update to latest version. Temperatures were in degrees Celsius. Windows power management was set to "Balanced".
