9700k + RTX 2070 or 2700x + 2080 for 1080p

Mainly for 1080p 240hz gaming and streaming.
I'm leaning towards the intel system for higher fps at 1080p and the option to upgrade to a better GPU in the coming years.

Edit: I've chosen to go for the intel and 2070, but now I'm wondering if I should get the 9700k or 8700k

2080 is wasted on 1080p.

Cpu limits fps, sets the ceiling, the gpu just has to live up to it. With a 240Hz monitor you'll want to maximize any and all fps choices.

I'd go with the Intel and 2070. And a very good cooler, get some OC on the cpu.

If streaming is a major consideration, not just a maybe/sorta-kinda hobby, you'd be better off with the Ryzen. Streaming loves threads, and games alone can soak up all 8 on that 9700k easily.

Okay, I think I'll stick to an RTX 2070 build. So would the 9700k be the best choice for 1080p? What about the 8700k? The main games I play are Overwatch and CSGO, and I'm not sure how important hyperthreading is for those titles.

I also watch videos while playing, would that have any impact?
