Hello, just got done building a pc with a 970a-G43 motherboard. AMD Phenom x4 965. 8GB RAM 1600. Radeon R9-290 4GB Graphic card. XFX 850 watt PSU. Everything is hooked up correctly. Went to boot and have no picture signal. I thought the MSI board would've automatically detected the MSI Radeon card. Do I need to load MSI motherboard software first or OS first? I tried the OS first. Any answers???

Solution

That board would have a compatible BIOS already , and it should have recognized the card.

TRY clearing the CMOS.

Eh, I'm an idiot...I should've just started it with no disc in it first. Did that, BIOS setup loaded right up. Thanks for the answers though. Great website.
