Question 970PRO and 860PRO likely be the last consumer 2-bit MLC SSD ever?

I just learned 980 PRO is actually using TLC NAND chips... ("PRO" does not mean MLC NAND anymore)... I can imagine current 970PRO and 860PRO models becoming the last ever consumer grade SSD that uses MLC chips. I feel that eventually we may see DRAMless QLC drives become PRO real soon.. A deja-vu of how CMR drives became such rare thing to come by, so quickly...

By the way the market really didn't want SMR hard drives.... they just used SMR technology for virtually everything and took away options from consumers. I don't see this behavior falls in "The underlying manufacturing technology will change over time to meet price/performance objectives. " category. And I don't see why they wouldn't do the same for the SSD technology.
