98% memory usage without process

Hey!

I built a pc recently, and sometimes spontaneously the memory usage rises to 98%, and its not falling. Also for example if I change the order the icons on the desktop or I change their places, the comp doesnt save it after a restart.

Mobo: gigabyte z97x gaming 3
ram: 8gb Kingston hyperx 1866mhz.

What can cause this?

Evening,

High memory usage can be caused my alot of things. Reboot your computer and repeatedly press F8, a list of options should appear, select 'Safe Mode' and press enter. Continue as you normally would but check your CPU usage while in safe mode.

The icon issue could be causing by a failing hard drive (are you using a hard drive or SSD) or it could be just a glitch.

I have both ssd and hdd.

about the memory stuff, are there any chances (since I now reinstalled the windows), that maybe it was because I loaded my old torrent files in utorrent to seed them, and the progrem rechecks them if any file missing to upload ?

Well, that could play a part. but we are talking about the high CPU usage here ad i don't think the hdd would affect the CPU load.

Could be a virus, Viruses can cripple your memory so you can't do anything while not in safe mode. try to run a virus scan on your computer - Malwarebytes would be great.
