I have X99 ASUS Rampage V, 5930k, 24gb ram 2666 Vengeance LPX, after the 980ti release, i m confused, i m not planning for 4K at this moment, just for the G Sync ASUS ROG Swift 144hz with 1440... so .. what do u think ? shall i go for 2xSLI then Triple ? or just got for the others ? not to mention is that my PSU is EVGA 1000 Platinum so PSU is not an issue. thx for ur help.

Solution
There are plenty of custom model GTX 980 Ti's. They are absolutely the best video cards you can buy right now. Something like the Zotac AMP Extreme comes out of the box with a +25% factory overclock, for example. How do you think that's going to look on a chart like this?

If you plan to play higher than 1080p, i would advice to get the 980Ti. I would get a 980Ti for now and use it with Gsync, then when more money is available get another 980ti. Honestly the 980 is a great card, but for 1440p or higher resolutions than 1080p i wouldn't bother with it. 4gb is not enough for the highest settings

thank u so much for the answer.. i do appreciate ur concern, so, u think that going with the 980ti is the best solution for now ? though i have to wait a little bit coz i HATE reference cards tbh.

and for the 144hz and FPS ... that what i m caring for now... heard and saw alot of videos showing that 144hz and FPS is awesome experience. so i m heading for both.

there are already custom PCB cards out. look at the Gigabyte G1 gaming 980Ti or EVGA 980ti hybrid.
However i'll have to dissapoint you. If you are looking for 144 fps on modern titles with maxed/ or close to maxed ultra settings on 1440p you'll need at least 2x, but probably 3x 980ti in SLI to achieve that. 😀
anyway the 980 ti is a very nice card and it will work really well on 1440p especially with gsync, but don't expect 144fps on games like gTA5 , unity, or witcher3. 😛

Thank u for ur answer, and actually thats why i made my question, can 980 2xSLI run with 144 on 1440 or not ?? will they provide better frames than the TX and 980ti ? will the 980 3xSLI kill the 980ti 2xSLI ?

i've seen many charts, but if this one is the real deal, then 71% to 100% is big enough to make a decision i think 😀, ty so much :)

Honestly i wouldn't bother with 3 way SLI at it's current state, scaling is not the best as you can imagine. Also the 980 has only 4gb vram, i can't advice that for 1440p because then you'll have to compromise on settings.

980ti SLI can do around 75-90 fps on 1440p ultrahigh gameplay on current modern games. But even with a single 980ti and g-sync you wil lhave a truely smooth experience on a gsync monitor.
