I recently upgraded my GTX 760 to a 980 Ti, and my processor to a i7-4790k. Most games see to run better, but Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion and Total War: Rome 2 actually run worse. I have checked my GPU drivers, reinstalled both games, and checked my connections. My power supply is 850 W, so it should be enough. How could upgrading to a better GPU and CPU result in worse fps?

Solution
Your psu is fine its good quality and more than enough watts for your system. Also your firestike scores are where they should be with out issue. This would lead to driver issues most likely. That or possible your new gpu is over heating and throttling. Run a few games and monitor your temps on the gpu with something like msi afterburner.

If they stay with in reason for extended periods then its most likely a driver issues with those games and the newer 980ti

The most I ever got was 50 Celsius. So I've decided it's just the game. Thanks for the help.
