980 ti sli, 1080, or 1080 sli

hi i have in my rig right now 980 ti's running sli. i was wondering if i should sell them before they drop in price and buy a 1080 or even get two and run in sli. i was wondering if it was worth it. How much better is a 1080 vs a 980 ti and would it justify losing around $100 to sell my cards and upgrade to the 1080?

just sometimes seems im getting some micro stuttering in certain games. it doesnt happen all the times its more like a hit or miss. sometimes its stutters others not at all.

not 100% if it is the cards but when i turn sli off stutter seems to go away 100%

SLI is known to cause stutters. Personally I would sell the 980tis right now, buy the 1080 when it comes out and run with it for some months. When 1080ti comes out, sell the 1080 and get the 1080ti.

That's just how SLI works, games aren't 100% optimized towards dual cards so they tend to have little stutters and errors and such. You'd probably have similar issues with dual 1080's. As for the question, it's really difficult to say. Nvidia claims that their new manufacturing process has yielded ungodly new cards that would indeed be worth getting, but you should wait for 3rd party benchmarks to prove or disprove that.

k thx i guess ill wait. i just dont want to wait too long and then have the price for my cards too drop too low where its not even worth selling anymore
