980 ti SLI or 1080 SLI

So right now I have a gtx 980 ti lightning and i'm looking to upgrade that. I was considering just getting another 980 ti for sli but then began considering the 1080 in sli. Now obviously just getting 1 980 ti is much cheaper so my question is, Will the performance increase with 2 1080's in sli be worth the price or should I just stick with the 980 ti in sli?

I have a rog swift PG278Q and the 980 ti, while a great card, can't really max this out with everything cranked up.

I would say honestly if i were you I would wait for the next line of cards to come out after the 1080, but if push comes to shove i would sell the 980ti and go with a single 1080 or wait for 1080ti......I did the SLI thing with 460's and 660's and now i have one 970. SLI is kinda taking a back seat. Soooo go for the single 1080 or 1080ti.

So it would be silly I'm assuming to get the 1080 if I can't sell the 980 ti?
