980 Ti SLI or GTX 1080?

Currently have an MSI GTX 980 Ti 6G. I can go SLI with another 980 Ti for 400-450 bucks or I can wait for the price of the 1080 to go down and get one. Which should I do?

980ti in SLI would be faster than a single 1080 in games that support SLI. I would wait and upgrade to a 1080ti.

Yeah, I saw this mistake when the 980 came out. Everyone who had a 780 ti upgraded to a 980 and they ended up upgrading to a 980 ti anyways. Waste of money imo.

You Already have a 980 Ti, Probably like you said can get another 980 Ti for 400-450$ heck maybe even a used one for cheaper if you are welling to look around im seeing around the 370-390$ range. I would advise to just get another 980 Ti since you already have one think about it:

you can either Sell yor 980 Ti add up on it and get a 1080 Which is pretty nice OR buy another 980 Ti (which will probably be around the same price after selling your existing 980 ti and adding up more money to get a 1080) for extra performance !

that is only my opinion though 😛
