980 Ti triple monitor (not surround) adapters required?

Hey all,

I have three monitors, each with HDMI and DVI connections. I also have a 980 Ti that has 3 DP, 1 HDMI, and 1 DVI ports.

I used to have a 7950 and to get all three working on the 7950 I needed to use active adapters.

Currently I have 1 HDMI and 1 DVI plugged into my 980Ti. Would the third monitor need to be an active adapter, or could I just use a passive adapter (displayport to dvi)? I read conflicting information in various forums, so I was hoping someone could give me a definitive answer.

A passive adapter will be fine, I've had four monitors hooked up to a single 970 without using an active adapter so I know it works.
