If turning up the fans doesn't help, it sounds like an airflow problem. Check for dust buildups within the heatsink and clean it out to improve airflow. Other than that, 88C is actually within normal operating range for a dual gpu card. It's on the very high end of the spectrum...but is still within it. Does your card get that hot on any other games?

wow, thats obviously not good for the card...have you given rivatuner a shot?

88C might be what the card was made to handle, but ive never owned one so cant say..
my 3870s never break 60C and the heatpipes are hot to the touch...

Yeah all games. Can you recommend any air product like heatsinks for video cards?

Unfortunately, I can't. I haven't used a custom/3rd party cooling solution for a GPU since my 7800 GT some years back.

Edit: Your thread title says 98C.

If you've never had this before, then its NOT an air flow problem in the case.
It seems your video card its having heat sink problems.

I just had the same problem last week with a NEW GTX 260 Core 216 SC; Temps went up to 100C, so I RMA and within a week EVGA send me a replacement and since then I haven't Seen Temps passed over 70C when gaming.

I would suggest contact EVGA and RMA the card, EVGA customer service is very good.

Anything I can do to increase the fan speed even more or increase the max speed limit?
