I thought it was the Ultimate that came heatsink only, whereas the 9800 pro and 9800 pro extreme had diff clock and ram speeds.

Maybe you could post links to these products...you're the one with question about them afterall.

If I had the links i could read them myself, as for the extreme version that I have, I have heard that it has higher ram and clock speeds but no evidence. The GiGacube site makes no mention of it even though i have their card and i can find no links to it anywhere.

Hence the question.......

OHHH, you already have the Extreme? Download Rage3D or RivaTuner to find out your clock speeds...should be 380/680.

Memory speeds. The Pro Extreme runs at faster speeds and starts with usually faster memory.

You think that's cool, here's a <A HREF="http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=14314" target="_new">'SUPER PRO'</A>.

Imagine, a Super Duper Pro with peltier/waterblock and voltmod....and then the Whoa Pro featuring a modified Mach II and some bitchin' voltmod. I want one and a second PSU.

Or I could wait for R420/NV40 like everyone else. (both of those, BTW, better break 10k in 3DMrk2k3 with how long we've waited in anticipation)

Hmmmm, I guess two or three more Fortron 530W PSUs will do...with a bunch of rewiring.

Doesn't Fugger have a Mach II'd and insanely voltmodded 9800XT? Or does he not connect a Mach II to it (I can't imagine there is another way to get 600MHz out of the core for long enough to run 3DMark)?

What's up with Super Pros benchmark scores? They are useless for comparing. It scored lower than the XT pro. I like the card though.

Question Answered !

Thanks, clock speeds are 400/700 stock standard. Thanks Guys, I obviously jagged the card cause I didn't know the diff between one and the other. And Luckily, neither did my local PC store.

What do <i>you</i> think?

How can performance, of any kind, be bad?

Too much heat, lowered reliabilty, loss of warranty, bad support from a company, etc. Added performance can bring other negative things, which is what I thought you were alluding to...guess I should have slept more than 2 hours last night and not run six kilometers and I probably would have realized that you wer sarcastic.

As for heat, damn thing runs as cool sa a cucumber, and their not overclocked either, they use a different ram spec and chip. As i said, I'm happy with it...my M8 on the other hand who bought the standard pro about a month ago for $100 bucks more, well, he's not happy.

Thanks again,

Gary
