Actually it probably is a pro, just a 'pro-lite' kind of card.
Sapphire has always used their own memory choices on their boards (and ATI had issue with Hercules, JEEZ!).
This is like the R9600XTs with TSOP. It's TSOP-II, but still crap for overclocking.
But these cards are cheaper and designed ONLY to reach their stock speeds and little more.
256bit versus 128bit is not limited to BGA.
In any case, I'd avoid the card, even at stock speeds.
<b>EDIT:</b> Aha, just read the other thread about the X-bit review.
So it's the full pipe R9800, just 128bit memory, which is different than a half-pipe R9800SE with crap & good memory.
Interesting to see it benchmarked.
