9800np installed, need some feedback

This was my old rig:

300w Generic ATX
xp1500+
512mb PC2100
gf4 ti4200 64mb

This is what I upgraded too:

400w Fortron PSU
xp2400+(266fsb)
1gb PC2100
Ati 9800nonpro(Catalyst 3.6)

All the installations went fine and going from an nVIDIA to an Ati was no sweat. Even though I couldn't get either Detonator Destroyer or Detonator RIP to work. So I hope there aren't any lingering nvidia files.

My 3dmark scores went from:

01 - 9987
03 - 1314

to:

01 - 12228(I was hoping for AT LEAST 13k :frown: )
03 - 4631(happy with this score)

Is there anything I should do to make sure I'm getting optimal performance out of my shiny new 9800? Any settings I should change? I don't exactly know how to lock refresh rates either because even though I set all refresh rates to 85mhz, when running benchies it was at 60.

Any help from my new Ati brothers would be most appreciated.

As far as the 3dMark2001 scores are concerned, I wouldn't worry too much about the 13k barrier because this benchmark is outdated and writen for something like Dx8 or DX7 hardware. If your happy with the 3Dmark2003 scores, that's the one that really counts. I hope this benchmark isn't Nvoptimized.

My OS features preemptive multitasking, a fully interactive command line, & support for 640K of RAM!

Ya know what? You've got a great point. The one that counts is the one using more current technology which my card supports.

Is it recommended to force AA and AF in the Ati control panel? Or to change them in game. Because some games don't have an options for either AA or AF or both.
