9800pro help

trying to install a 9800pro but keep getting this error message while installing drivers " zero display service error".installation continues all seems fine after boot up
but then i get random crashes.uninstalled previous drivers using driver cleaner,ive also tried latest drivers still get the same error" zero display service error" during driver installation.anyone got any idea what this might be.

win xp
asus a7v8x
512 ram.

hum i have no idea what OS do you have? it might be some kind of plug and play conflict.Have you looked at device manager?

running windows xp home. no problems found in device manager.
tested again earlier using omega drivers got the same " zero display service error" during driver install when install complete it ran for about ten minutes then locked up.
on reboot i had a no power connected msg from the graphic card. changed cables still same message.
im unsure what my power supply is ( watts). took the thing out no labels on it. ive heard these cards need a good power supply ie 350 watts, im wondering could this be the problem.

perhaps its your chipset drivers?


something to do with AGP? ive never seen taht error message before..


are you able to change screen resolutions in windows without any problems?

yes changed resoultions 800 x 600 to 1024 x 768 no problem.
also i ran 3d mark03 it completed that with good results.
it just locks in a game or just browsing the internet.
sometimes it didnt crash altogether and came up with a " switching to software mode " or something like that error.
ive downloaded latest via 4 in 1's but it made no difference.
