I can’t really find an answer on reddit for a motherboard recommendation for the 9800X3D. I get answers like that “the 9800X3D is a time bomb, you should’ve gone with a 7800X3D” or that the B850 mobo i bought separate wasn’t high end.

Regardless i found a 9800X3D for $479 sold as a motherboard combo. The motherboard selection was mATX, Gigabyte X870 gaming wifi6 (which is what i chose for the bundle) or other motherboards like B850 etc..
I bought it from Central Computers to have it shipped to me. They emailed me stating they were out of stock on the X870 i selected, and wanted me to pay extra for another X870 they had available but in the end i chose the B850 Eagle wifi 6E, but before they emailed i already bought the B850 Aorus elite wifi7.

Honestly i just need help, on what i should do because im not familiar with AMD mobos. I am switching from intel to AMD btw. should i just get a 7800X3D if the 9800X3D are having issues and dying like users have reported. Should i go with an X870? Like im lost at this very moment, people are giving me different answers than what i expected. In the end i just wanted the fastest cpu at this very moment and it happened to be the 9800X3D. Also want to mention that the 9800X3D just shipped today using UPS and same with everything else new i bought.

Please help…

Actually, it's ASRock motherboards and their botched BIOS version that's causing 9800X3D's to go haywire. As for the one that was on an MSI board, it was user error. As for your motherboard, look for a board with a beefy VRM design.

but in the end i chose the B850 Eagle wifi 6E
Product stack wise, the Eagle range is technically the same lineup as the Pro series from MSI which is a bottom of the barrel style segment = lower quality componentry.

i already bought the B850 Aorus elite wifi7
The Aorus range was created to be on par with Asus's ROG division, so you did good on that front.

Simple answer, you're going to be fine with the board if you did get this one;

Just make sure you're on the latest BIOS version and that your chip is cooled well in an optimal airflow case and you're going to be solid for years to come.

Okay thank you! Yes that is the one i am getting. I was worrying to death.
I mean is it worth going for a high end X870 mobo? As for the cpu cooler i ended up with the Thermalright Phantom spirit 120 EVO. I think my current AIO with my intel chip might be on its last legs i think. So i went with air cooler. I have plenty of fans as well. :) should i go for an X870 mobo? If i should what would be your recommendation?
