980ti AIO Problem

Hi guys so I bought a used 980ti FTW edition with an AIO preinstalled.

Do I have to plug in the fan headers for it to work or will it operate solely off pcie and off the cables plugged from the psu?

If you don't plug the fan cables to the MoBo or to the PSU molex connector using 4-pin to molex adapter the fans doesn't work. It's simple as that.
But if you do want the fans to work, you have to connect them to a power source (either MoBo or PSU as i described before).

Fans on the radiator spun but the card was just DOA. Returned and got my money back
