Hello everyone,

Battlefield 4 runs at 125FPS average FPS (1080p, Ultra, 4x MSAA) according to many benchmarks all over the internet. However, I average 80FPS all over the game. What seems to be the issue? Please note that:

CPU usage: 70%
GPU usage: 60%
And the Power plan is high performance.
Is this an example of bottleneck? I do not think so.

PC Specs:
i5-3570k @stock clock
212 evo cooler
Asus P8Z77-V PRO motherboard
1x8GB Kingston DDR3-1600 RAM
Gigabyte GTX980Ti G1 Gaming OC
Cooler master GX750 (750 watt 80plus bronze power supply)

Solution
1. Install DDU
2. Run the Clean Driver option (to install new gpu)
3. Plug the 760 in
4. Download the 760 drivers from nvidia
5. Install them
6. Repeat steps 1,2,3
7. Plug the 980ti
8. Download the nvidia drivers
9. Use the Clean and restart (to install drivers) option in DDU
10. It will tell you to reboot into safe mode then it will start deleting your drivers
11. Run the nvidia driver .exe do the installitation
12. Done

These is the best way to do it but you can skip some of these steps if you are lazy

Well your missing out on some serious performance. Overclock your CPU to 4.5ghz and up the ram to 16 gbs. I bet you would see a notable FPS improvement.

Also, don't believe everything you read on the internet. Just cause 100 people got 125 FPS average with similar hardware, does not mean everyone else will. Remember, People lie and bend the truth to prop themselves up onto a pedestal.

Thanks, but I really don't want to overclock the CPU. Any suggestion how to properly re install the driver? Because I just unplugged my 760 and plugged the 980 ti and connected it properly. It did some kind of driver installation with the new GPU using GeForce experience and the PC identifies it as a proper 980Ti, but I am very sure I missed something.

So the first thing I do is to take off the 980ti and plug the 760?

Yeah. its the evo 212.
Its not anywhere close to what you need to get 100%. The card WILL be bottlenecked by that cpu, I promise you, but its not... so you need a cpu cooler. A HIGH END air, (Tower cooler) or water.
Also... the pcie slot is gen 3, x16 right? but even gen 2 should get better.
p.s. my 980ti xtreme (air) gets bottlenecked by my 6700k even at 4.6GHz x4 cores. (NH-D15)

lol that cpu will not bottleneck the 980ti. The cpu would benefit from a overclock but no.....it wont bottleneck it. Hell my i5-2500k didnt bottleneck my 2 780ti classifieds which are heavily overclocked. Also 16gb of ram for gaming is overkill. You would not notice a huge jump in performance from that. 8gb for gaming currently is more than enough. Do a clean driver install and look at some overclocking threads and videos and try to get more performance out of your cpu. It is a k model which means its meant to be overclocked.

HAHAHA a 6700k does not bottle neck a 980ti lolololol. Its literally impossible. As i stated sandy bridge stuff like the i5-2500k, i7-2600k is more than capable of running a 980ti at full speed. Also the 212 evo is MORE than enough to provide plenty of cooling for that cpu stock or overclocked. I ran my 2500k at 4.5 ghz with the 212 evo with 2 fans in push pull config and it kept it FROSTY cold. I run the 212 evo now with also 2 fans in push pull and under stress testing i never break 56c. My cpu's throttle temp is 105c just to give you a idea.

"Well that guy on youtube with 5960X and a 980Ti said that the minimum you need is 5820K to keep up with it. So I believed him " :gun:

wow. errrp would you like to see this happen on a bench? not all games will but yes it can. Metro does. I think like 10 games I've benched have.
And no, the evo212 is junk dude. your cpu is throttling to stay around 65.
How many lanes can the 6700k process? how many instructions can it process? now, how many lanes can the gpu use and send instructions? how is it not possible? I can show at least 5 games right now where the cpu holds everything back.
My specs:
ASUS Z170-Premium
6700k with NH-D15 can and has done 4x 4790MHz
32 Gigs o' G.Skill 3000 cas14
gigabyte gtx980 ti XTreme (the angel eyes 1, not water) clocked @ 1265/1366MHz ( /boost ) & mem @ 7302 MHz
Its about bandwidth fellas... z170 can only use 20 lanes...period. 5820k 28 lanes. 5930 & 5960x is 40 lanes.
get a grip.

If the cpu is able to run at 100% load and the gpu during gaming or testing then there is no bottleneck. Now i i7-970 or something old like that yes would bottleneck but no. My 2500k didnt bottleneck my 2 780ti's and neither will his cpu. You need to go re learn some things. The 6700k will not bottleneck any gpu out right now especially not the 980ti and it doesnt matter what model it is. Just stop.

if the 6700k, 6600k, 2500k's etc bottlenecked the 980ti people wouldnt get better performance sli'ing them. As long as your cpu and send the instructions to the gpu at 100% and the gpu is able to work at 100% to render that information then there is no bottleneck. I don give a rats behind about anything else. If both items of hardware are able to work at full 99-100% together then there is no bottleneck. Now if the cpu is at 100% and gpu at 40% there would be a bottle neck. Or gpu at 100% and cpu at 40%. Thats how bottlenecks work. Take some time and go look at what a gaming bottleneck actually is.

lol I told him to get a better cooler. the evo 212 is NOT on the top tier after market. it's on the LOWEST. no bad advice there, dude.
That's literally all I suggested. anything else and your wanna be condensation is all just bs. maybe you got an evo and you feel personally empathetic to it. I'm not here to argue. Maybe you're right...except the evo thing. it's low level aftermarket junk. good deal for stock, regular everyday tasks. no more, no less.

No the 212evo being able to keep my 6700k cooler than a h100i tells me is a great cooler. I have been using these for years back before the evo when it was still the 212 plus. Its been proven how well it cools and of course its not top tier no one said it was. Its arguable the best air cooler though without dropping $80+ on a phanteks tcp14 or nh-d15. It gives plenty of overclocking room especially if you run it in push pull config. It kept my sandy bridge 2500k under 55c in full stress testing load clocked at 4.5 ghz. Thats damn good for any cooler to do without going under water. Also its far from the lowest end of air coolers lol. Again 2500k 4.5ghz 100% load never getting over 55c max temp. Gaming never over 50c. My 6700k under FULL stress testing load it never goes over 56c...gaming again 50-52c. Also my 6300 overclocked at 4.3ghz stays well under 40c. Argue that cooler all you want because it just shows how ignorant and uneducated you are.

Keep in mind these tests are with 1 stock fan. Pair it with a set of static pressure fans like i have and even on the skylake reviews ocn did their reviews with the h110i full load was 60c. I am able to stay under 60c full load so i'd say its a damn good cooler. As the OP knows because he has it. Back your statements with facts or proof otherwise you are just saying false things based on your opinion. Is it the best top tier cooler like no one said it was yet you feel it needs to be said anyway? No but is it a damn good cooler for its price that gives you the ability to overclock? Duh of course. Its actually a great cooler.

Hey. You said power plan is on high performance right? ...
Have you checked the advanced mode of your power plan and verified that max cpu usage is set to 100%?
Also in device manager, have you checked to see if you have unknown, or legacy hardware devices? especially a legacy processor node?
