980ti vs 1060

im struggling for what gpu to upgrade to.
in england these card are the same price with 980ti being used and 1060 being new.
i have a 500w psu and have the correct connectors needed

pc specs
2500k
8gb of ram

what gpu should i go for ? thinking more long term and wether it will run properly without performance and any complications due to psu

What 500watt PSU? You would be pushing a quality 500watt psu with a 980 ti, don't even think about it if it is some old generic bottom of the barrel PSU.

The 980ti is certainly the more powerful GPU but it consumes a lot more power and it's used. I would probably go for the 980 ti if you can get a new PSU as well and if your sure it's not some used 980 ti with a crap cooler than has been mining for the past several years.

980ti is on par with 1070
It’s faster than 1060 for sure.
