980ti vs 1070

So i'm planning on doing a new skylake build, and I was hoping to finally upgrade from the gtx 770. I noticed that I could get the 980ti for 399$ and a 1070 for around 420-450. My target is 60 fps at 1440p with settings at least at medium/high on most modern games.

but the 1070 is a bit faster and has newer tech, like VR capabilities the 980 ti lacks

go with the newer 1070 u end up having more support & better support as the games being released with ur motherboard combo u be happier than using a 900 series which has been a hit or miss series
