Hello,
I bought an asus 980ti strix and I have this motherboard:
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_IV_EXTREMEZ/

I want to know where is the best PCI-E port to put my 980ti to get the best performance.
there are 4 slots.
Which one is the best?
Thank you very much and sorry for my English.

And it will work as PCI-E 3.0?
I already connected the card to the fourth slot, if I will connect it to the first one I will get better performance?
Thank you!

if its a pci-e 3.0 slot yes, but tbh from 2.0 to 3.0 its not really noticeable, its always best to have your gpu in a 16x slot rather than an 8 but im not sure if the performance increase is that significant .

And the fourth one is running at X8?

But I read that this board is GEN 3.
It is written on the box of the board.

manual says 2.0, id go by the manual.

you sure you gave us the right board link?

Yes I am sure.
I also checked in GPU Z and it says that the gpu is running at x16 pci3.

thats odd, if its running at 3.0 then nothing to worry about, like i say theres not a big difference between 2.0 and 3.0, maybe 2 fps.

Okay but I needed to use this guide(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzGSqsidL30) to make the pcie 3.0 work. Before I used this guide it was running at 2.0 so what does it mean?
In the bios settings I also have an option to choose gen 1/2/3 for the pci e slots.
