Guys I want to buy SSD tomorrow... I can't decide what to take 🙁

I will write some information and maybe that will help you guys help me with making choice.....

I have Windows 8.1 and ONLY installed programs are: Skype,Viber,Firefox,Media Player Classic,AIMP3 - nothing else!

I've always installed 2-3 games so I play all the time....

Summing up that info, what will be good choice for me ? 128/256GB? MX100/MX550/850 xxx?

I know 850 Pro is better but currently it's 170$ and MX100 is for 99$ and MX550 is 125$... Also I need SSD with MLC

So please tell me guys, which one to buy?

To be true I even don't know why I need SSD,but all my friends and forums out here tell to grab ssd cause it's so cool and bla bla bla so I want to give it a try... I just heard that I need SSD with MLC... Does MX100 have it ?

I agree with the others. The Crucial BX100 is an excellent entry level ssd. It is also the best value for the money spent. I've already recommended the BX100 in several other threads in this forum.

I maintain the ssd database listed in a sticky at the very top of this forum section. Here is the link:

Scroll down to the SATA 3 section of the database and look for the Crucial BX100. Follow the links to the technical reviews which are in English and other languages.

The development of standard 2.5 inch SATA 3, 6Gb/s solid state drives has reached the point where there is very little difference in performance. There still are some performance differences but they would be for some very complicated scientific or professional work.

There is a second reason I would recommend an inexpensive ssd. That reason is the transition from SATA 3 to PCI-e and M.2 ssd's. Chances are the next upgrade may be to one of the newer types of ssd's. The transition has already begun. It will take many years to accomplish the transition. Even then, the SATA 3 ssd's will be around for many many years to come just like mechanical hard disk drives.

I got the M500 (Two generations behind the MX100) and even though it is a little slower that the 840 Pro that was out at the time I have been on PC's that use it and i can't tell a difference.

The truth of the fact is if an SSD can read faster than 300 you probably won't notice much of a difference. The write speeds vary but unless you are copying over HUGE files you still won't see a difference.

The MX100 is the best bang for your buck.
