Hi! I got my new 9900k today upgraded from an 8700k.
Im using a z390 phantom gaming 6 from asrock which has support for the ram im using.
im using G.skill 16gb (2x8) DDR4 4266mhz CL19 Trident Z / 1.4v
It worked perfectly on my 8700k which was also clocked at 5ghz 1.35v
when i installed the 9900k without any OC, just the XMP. no bueno.
can't even boot into windows without going below 3200mhz.
Using a full custom loop with 600mm worth of rads if it makes any difference.
Any suggestions to this? Is it a bad memory controller on this ship? unloko?
Please don't comment about if it's worth or not performance wise, I don't care.
I want the speed I payed for or atleast close to it.

Tried disabling XMP and setting manual speed and timings? Increase voltage to 1.45? Tried looser timing 20-20-20-40?

There we go, probably an issue with the XMP profile. One number could be off by 1 and it’s a no boot. Glad you got it brother.
I got new problems now... I crash at 4.7ghz even when doing 1.35 vcore, unlucky? or...
tried LLC level 1 (least vcore drops) and power limit on max, crashes after 5-10min
However the ram is working nice, did a memtest86 for 1 hour without any errors.
