I bought an open box Asus Sabertooth R2.0 for my first build, and I put a brand new FX 8320 in it, but every time I boot up, the CPU LED is on but not blinking and I get no display. All the fans power up, and I also tested an FX 4300 and the same thing happened. What could the problem be? Also, I have 1 4gb stick of G-Skill Ripjaws running at 1600Mhz.

I noticed that those are all for X79 Mobos but I have an 990FX board, would those solutions work for mine?

Have you tried pressing the MEMok? My system wouldn't boot when i had everything installed but when i pressed the MEMok button for the first time on the sabertooth 990fx it posted just fine. Maybe that isn't the issue but it's an idea 😀

I tried doing this, but it still won't boot. I'm thinking that I might just return this even though I got a great deal on it, and pick up a GA-990FXA-UD5.

I'd return it for a new one instead. Sabertooth is supposed to be a quality board that should last a while, you might have just gotten one of the few broken ones, which is always possible with something like motherboards. Also make sure there are no bent pins anywhere, I know that can be a problem with the socket for intel processors when some of the key pins on the socket were bent or even broken for one reason or another

Thankfully I'm careful enough to not bend any pins, I would slap myself if I did that with my brand-new 8320! I'm hoping that they give me a good deal on this new board because this'll be the third board I've gotten from Micro Center in the last month. Not that it's a bad store, but the amount of gas I've spent going back and forth could buy me whole other board!

For some reason, after I decided to assemble all of my parts back in my case and haul it Micro Center to have my problem diagnosed, the system booted up. I had to combat a RAM LED but after some trouble shooting that went away, and now I have a functioning system!
