990fxa ud3 and FX 6300

I have heard that there are problems overclocking these and other things. Currently I have a budget board that has bad caps and 95 tdp limit so I can't overclock on it at all. It has 1 pcie x16 slot. Is it worth paying $130 for this motherboard and overclocking my cpu and maybe my gpu?

If you're planning to overclock you'll need an aftermarket cooler.

The 990FXA is good, as well as the M5A99X.

Yeah, not much can be done on that board :lol: You'll need an upgrade as you said.

What's your PSU? And do you have an aftermarket CPU cooler?

EVGA 600b no I have a stock cooler. But Can't I overclock some on stock and get a cooler later?

As long as you stay within safe temps on the stock cooler (60C max on the core, 72C max on the socket).

Up to you. With a good board and a good cooler you could reach 4.9 comfortably. If that gives you enough performance gain to justify your purchase.

Well that is another $130 but I can get better ram also and cpu upgrade to a 8320 or 50 in the future.

I suggest to upgrade parts of your rig over a better OC' board , because in the long run you can always get a newer board that you can slap all the other parts that you upgraded to have a better efficient upgrade compared to just OC your current board.

Well I am also selling off my 1333 ram and getting 1866 g skill sniper

I also got my gtx 560 ti for $40 and I don't play hardcore games currently. Just War Rock and Minecraft.
