Hey all.

When i was building my new machine a lot of people from tomshardware and other forums aswell told me that fsp raider 650w 80+silver edition will be totally fine to power my new gaming PC. its a 88% psu with i7 haswell support and 2x 6+2pin pci connectors.

So far the system is running well. i didn't have a single shut down, bsod, crash, or anything. gaming performance seems fine even after 5-6 hours intensive playing on max graphics. i even oc'd my 980 once to 1450/4000 mhz and was stable when playing/benchmarking however i didn't need the more perofrmance so i just use stock clocks normally.

My firestrike combined score was something like 14500
when i'm monitoring hardware i see that gpu is getting 98% used most of normally programmed games and it is used properly, no drops in power or gpu usage. except some bad written games like watch dogs( but everyone seem to have gpu usage problem in watch dog 1080p res)

temperatures seem fine for me:

cpu- 50C maximum
gpu- 65C maximum

Now i've opend a topic, because i was thinking on upgrading to an SSD , and some ppl adviced me to get new psu because im damageing system and that this psu is horrible for my rig. others say its ok and its good psu ...

__my question is am i fine with this psu and can i go for the ssd upgrade, or should i upgrade psu immediately because im risking my pc safety or anything like that?

COOLERMASTER RC-650L-KKN1 Silencio 650 Pure
FSP Raider 650w 80+ silver
SCYTHE Mugen MAX

the psu's official specs: http://www.fsplifestyle.com/product.php?LID=1&PSN=382

please advice! I want to hear anyone's opinion who is familiar with psu's , even better if has experience with this exact psu.
Kind regards, Mike

Hello thank you for your fast reply.
Actually some guy was telling me that my PSU is not for gaming and its horrible for my system and i risk my system with it.
That's false then right?
It's the first pc that i've build and now this made me worried a bit.

He might have been trying to suggest a PSU from a more trusted brand, like Seasonic, XFX or even Corsair for that matter.

Great SSD indeed, I have the 120GB vesion and it's just remarkable. A great balance between speed and quality, loving it!
