My friend had a 1660 ti which gets 2000+ FPS on Minecraft but I have a 2060 and it only gets up to 1600 FPS max

Solution
FPS is set by the CPU, not GPU. Your CPU is probably inferior to your friend's.

And for crying out loud, why anyone would be unsatisfied with 1600 fps when the fastest monitors can only display 360 fps is beyond me.

There were those old days of 20fps with a dinky GeForce FX.

It certainly felt well sufficient, for what's possible back then.

If a bigger number is all you want, reduce render distance to minimum.

For all other purposes, put all graphic settings to maximum, turn on V-Sync, and enjoy your game.
