im adding an external gpu to my laptop... in few days i will receive the adapter of the gpu (EXP GDc V8.0). and i heard that i will need like 300W power supply for the card to get maximum performance.. so a "Corsair CP-9020095 VS350 350W" will be enough?
Thanks a lot.
you are going to need dual 6-pin pcie cables i dont think a 350w would have that, especially a bad unit like that VS

A Radeon HD 6950 needs 30 amps on the 12v+ rail and at least a 500 watt power supply , usually with 2 - 6 pin PCIE connections from the PSU.
Hey guys i really know nothing about this stuff im really sorry but can u please please explain me a little what i need?
I ordered the EXP GDC V8.0, this is a gpu adapter so i can add an external gpu to my laptop. i learned that i need a power supply for this so it will work. but i didnt thought about more then 350W cause someone told me here that for 6950 i will need like 300W power supply(i remind u guys that the powersupply is only for the gpu, not for the whole laptop.) but if u say 500W then i guess u right cause u know things i dont...
which cabels i need to have? does i get them with the power supply or i need to order them?
I dont understand what is 12v+ rail and 30 amps, or a 2-6 pin pcie or a dual 6 pin....?
Thanks a lot i really apriciate it
hey i also checked in http://outervision.com. and it said like 270W
