im adding an external gpu to my laptop... in few days i will receive the adapter of the gpu (EXP GDc V8.0). and i heard that i will need like 300W power supply for the card to get maximum performance.. so a "Corsair CP-9020095 VS350 350W" will be enough?

Thanks a lot.

you are going to need dual 6-pin pcie cables i dont think a 350w would have that, especially a bad unit like that VS

Question from adarc8 : "A 350W Corsair Power Supply will be enoguh for HD6950?"

A Radeon HD 6950 needs 30 amps on the 12v+ rail and at least a 500 watt power supply , usually with 2 - 6 pin PCIE connections from the PSU.

Hey guys i really know nothing about this stuff im really sorry but can u please please explain me a little what i need?
I ordered the EXP GDC V8.0, this is a gpu adapter so i can add an external gpu to my laptop. i learned that i need a power supply for this so it will work. but i didnt thought about more then 350W cause someone told me here that for 6950 i will need like 300W power supply(i remind u guys that the powersupply is only for the gpu, not for the whole laptop.) but if u say 500W then i guess u right cause u know things i dont...
which cabels i need to have? does i get them with the power supply or i need to order them?
I dont understand what is 12v+ rail and 30 amps, or a 2-6 pin pcie or a dual 6 pin....?

Thanks a lot i really apriciate it

hey i also checked in http://outervision.com. and it said like 270W

And!! i think it does have the 12v+ rail and the stuff u mentioned

isn't that for the whole system? he said this is for external gpu for his laptop. though to be honest i'm not sure if older cards such as 6950 support AMD x connect.

the card itself might be fine with 350w unit though to be honest i don't really have any experience with this kind of setup as well so i can't be sure about it
