Would the Honorary Elders of this forum mind terribly if I humbly corrected their grammar and spelling on occasion? I know: no one is at fault here but the defective educational system, so please don’t feel bad. Should we use these boards to do more than just learn about the latest gossip regarding the crudest speculation based on unsubstantiated rumors concerning a hypothetical product for which the release date is unknown?

*Your = belonging to you. Example:

*You’re = you are. Example:

- Who is this illiterate imbecile? Oh, wait! Is it really you?! You’re that guy who skipped his English classes?

MS Word has a spellchecker. USE it before you post. Have some respect for your fellow forum members.

I think my biggest grammar problem is knowing where to punctuate. I tend to make a single sentence into a paragraph and never know where to put commas.

As far as spell checking goes...I don't have Microsoft Word. All I have is Notepad and WordPad. The "your" and "You're" issue is elementry though as far as I'm concerned. Any time a word has an apostrophe in it, such as have'nt, Can't, I've, etc., your always substituting two words. In the case of You're, I find it just as easy to say "You are" since, aside from the space in between, it's just as many charectors. (Notice I say "it's" as oppose to "its" since I'm substituting "it is".)

Hard? lol. I don't even know when its proper to start a new paragraaph. I just ramble on until it appears too cluttered and then I start a new paragraph to break it up some.

*Guess what I just found out to my shock and amazment. I have always thought that "intill" and "intell" were words. Apparently I have been putting "intill" in place of "until" all my life. Don't I feel stupid.

I see no logic in snubbing your nose at someones atempt to educate others. Even if admitedly its unrealistic to expect good grammar on a forum it should still be welcomed if someone makes the atempt at educating people on the matter.

Vamp, you put the apostrophe in "havn't" in the wrong place.

Slava, worthy cause, but I suggest you deal with it one post/user at a time, as I do. Now you just sound like a fool with a bloated ego, and everyone will be looking for mistakes in your posts.

Also, Slava, you must make exceptions for the use of certain language. 1337 (leet) speak is one example. 1337 speak is correct, and awesome. Also, the word "the" can legally be spelled as "teh". These are a couple examples of acceptable non-proper English.

I use notepad when for longer posts, but never use word or a complete word processor.
