A budget gaming pc for 4-5 years

pls tell a budget gaming pc..it should be resistive for 4-5 years from now..all latest games like crysis 2 ,metro 2033 like games will be played at 1600x900 res..at present these games should be played at high settings not ultra but at future the cpu should be capable handling all games at atleast 1600x900 res with all details at medium..both amd and intel can be suggested.from my knowledge i heard that future games will use quad core .a budget quad core processor will be better..

If you want a budget pc, from an intel perspective it will be a i3 on a P67 or Z68 chipset, in which you can upgrade to a better sandy bridge or the new ivy bridge down the line.

It depends what you mean by "Budget". Even a high end gaming PC can have problems playing games 4 - 5 years from now at high graphic settings.

600$..at present all games should be played at high settings at 1600x900 res and at future that is after 3 years the game should be played at 1600x900 res at low to medium settings without any problems

The AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz is $115 for the next few days. Put it in an ASRock 970 EXTREME4 AM3+ 970 motherboard.

a "budget" PC for $600 will have problems playing Crysis 2 or metro2033 on high settings TODAY.

at minimum you need a 5770 ( 6770 ) just for those games to be playable on MEDIUM settings at 1600x1050, nevermind on high.

assuming you went with a standard 'budget' build ( with quad core per your request ) like:

that brings you to $295, once you add in a basic HDD for $40-55, keyboard, mouse, standard DVD/RW, you are likely near $400. That leaves $200 for a PSU and a graphics card. Thats enough for a 450-650 watt PSU and a 5770/6770 or maybe a 550 Ti or a cheap 6790 for like $130

That ate up your $600 and is among lowest acceptable minimum GPUs to play crysis 2 or metro2033 on medium settings at 1600x1050. nevermind trying to play those on higher settings or at higher resolutions, and forget trying to play newer games over the next 4-5 years, even a $300 GPU isn't futureproof enough for that.

Personally for a build to last a few years i think you should be considering a GTX 560Ti or a ATI 6950 as a minimum. (you can always add a second card in future if a performance boost is needed).

Match that with a 500w PSU, 4-8GB Ram, a reasonable p67/z68 motherboard and id say your good to go.

AdrianPerry is right on.
a decent p67/z68 mobo will likely cost $60-$100 more than the one I listed above ( you have TONS of choices for these )
and a 560Ti or HD 6950 will run you around $230-$250, or $270 for the 2GB 6950, putting your total cost to somewhere around $800. But for a build you want to last even 2 years, thats the price range you need to be looking in.

the monitor is lg e2041t which is a low range 60hz 20 inch led monitor ..so the games will be played on only 1600x900 res..if i do sli my cards or buy a single gtx 570 i will get more than 100fps which i cannot experience in my monitor..my processor will definitely be i5 either 2500 or 2500k based on mobo..for high settings not ultra or extreme will a gtx 560 and a i5 2500 will be enough..AFTER 5 YEARS WITH A I5 2500 AND A GTX 560 CAN I PLAY ALL GAMES AT THIS RES WITH MEDIUM SETTINGS..

It's impossible to answer that. Its hard to predict what will come in 1 year, let alone 5 years. Gaming is about to/is making the leap to quad core processors and high end graphics cards, with dual core being left in the dark. In another couple of years quad core could be eliminated and new processors and GPU's could be leading the way.

I5-2500K and GTX 560Ti should be able to keep up nicely with games over the next year or 2, after that theres really no telling what will happen.

ok if i get this config how can i manage with my 60hz monitor ..my monitor will burst if i get more than 60fps.in games like nfs hot pursuit they doesnt have v-sync in that case ..how i can control my fps at 60..

You dont need to.....

My monitor is only 60Hz and i run some games at well over 100fps. Counter Strike: Source runs at like 399 FPS lol, BioShock 2 runs about 135 fps and so on...Refresh rate and frames per second dont need to match each other.

For $600 USD it would be very hard to play current gen games on high setting today, let alone 5 years from now. Your talking about Crysis 2 and Metro, on a $600 build these games would probably be barely playable.

I just completed a build with a 2500k and a 560TI and theres no way your fitting them into a $600 build. I also do not expect it to last 5 years that for sure!

So to answer your terrible question, no a $600 computer would not be able to run games 5 years from now on medium settings. It probably won't last 3.

To others smarter than myself am I way off on my estimates?

I personally recently built i5-2500k with 560Ti aswell and on a single card, from what ive heard, will struggle to max BF3 (and thats on a 950MHz OC aswell). If i add a second card in SLI i expect it will last about a year or 2 untill ill need to consider upgrading again. However that is talking about maxed/ultra settings. Crank down the AA/AF/Tessellation and who knows, maybe it will still be playing games at a decent FPS in a few years.

As i said before, its really an un-answerable question.
