Hi, I have recently finished putting together my first build:

CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 270 3.4GHz AM3 2MB 65W
MOBO: Gigabyte 78LMT-S2P AM3+ 760G DDR3 ATX
MEMORY: Crucial 4GB DDR3 1333MT/s (PC3-10600) CL9 Unbuffered UDIMM 240pin
HDD: WD 250GB Blue SATA-600 7200rpm 16MB 3.5"
PSU: Antec Earthwatts 380W ATX 12V 80Plus

I am using an old ATX case from a previous computer (a PC from Mesh computers), along with a 1280x1024 display (Iiyama Prolite E431S, via DVI)

Very much a budget build, but doing very well running Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander).

I was considering adding a graphics card to the mix. Considerations are:
- If possible I would like to play some older games, in particular Valve's source engine games such as Half-Life 2 and Portal 2.
- For use with Folding@home
- I understand that Nvidia have better driver support than AMD for Linux.
- I would prefer a low-noise/silent solution
- Budget: less than £50 ($80 or thereabouts)

With this in mind I was looking at:

Asus GeForce GT 610 810MHz 2GB PCI-Express 2.0 HDMI Low Profile

or, if I was feeling frisky:

Asus GeForce GT 620 700MHz 2GB PCI E 2.0 HDMI DirectCU Silent

Would I get any benefit from either of these cards?

Grateful for any opinions.
