Hi Everyone.
This is for a friend that's quite a big bro to me, and we're planning to build our own pc and play some Dota2.
His plan was to build an A6 rig and overclock it, but I'm not sure if it can handle Dota2 and give him the experience he was looking for, so I tried to make a build with A8.
His budget is around Php 18,000 and he will be buying part from here: www.pcx.com.ph
Build.
AMD A8-6600k - Php 4,650
Cooler Master Seidon 120v - Php 1,900
Gigabyte F2A88XM-HD3 - Php 3,300
Kingston HyperX Genesis 1866 2x4Gb - Php 4,000
WD Caviar Blue 500Gb - FREE
Cooler Master N200 Windowed - Maybe Php 2,000 ( I have this case, and my friend might buy it )
Seasonic S12II 520w - Php 2,950

Total amount is Php 18,000 quite over budget but the parts I selected are the best I could get.

Do you know guys how well this build can play Dota2, I'm pretty sure it cannot play Dota2 on Ultra @ 1080p but I guess Mid-High would be a great experience.

If you guys have any better recommendation feel free to post. Any help will be much appreciated :)

Solution
It should be bale to. Dota 2 is an old game that wasn't even hard to run when it came out. Medium settings at 1080p will be no problem as long as you use 1866 or 2133 RAM. You always want the fastest RAM possible for an APU build.
Thanks for the quick response, the Ultra @ 1080p is out of reach and it's a given, how bout Mid-High? I am not sure about the monitor resolution he will be using, so assume that 1080p is the native resolution of his monitor. I am pretty sure that if Mid Settings can be play at 1080p, then High is possible at lower resolution around 768p, correct me if I'm wrong.

I cant really find any benchmarks for it so im just giving you my best guess. I would think it would run smooth at 60fps on high at 768p but i cant sure. But at 1080p even at low settings i think the apu would struggle to keep a good frame rate.

Now that's not a good news, would you mind recommending a build with the parts available on the link? There are even more parts available on their pricelist ( dealer's ). I'd really appreciate it :)

I think you are misjudging Dota for a high end game.

At 1080p, this computer will run Dota at mid/high no problem.
