For sometime now people have been expressing their displeasure of the steps BestofMedia has been leading TomsHardware. It seems that this displeasure and idea's on how to get attention to it has been censored.

The topic came up on this article http://www.tomshardware.com/news/PC-Gaming-Roundup,7083.html which has magically vanished while previous articles remained untouched. If you so wish you can still use the news box on main page to see for yourself. The reason why or so it seems why this whole article was removed is because after some posts about peoples displeasure I decided to make a post myself. After somethings about where I think Tom's is heading and how the flash games are insulting even more so the adult section that it use to have which I am sure BestofMedia ignored and didn't care about. However I went on to explain how I no longer click any ads like I previously did and advised others to follow suit as this would hurt BestofMedia where they only care and that's their wallet. With the intent on making BestofMedia listen and actually make their site worthy of supporting once again. In the mean time I advised if any ads interested you to simply go to the website mantually rather than clicking on the ad.

After some agreement from other users and what could have been the start of the whole movement. The whole article was simply deleted. Not just my comment or those who agreed but the whole thing which is no doubt excessive even for censorship.
BestofMedia for sometime now has ignored constructive criticism and now has gone into censorship of any protest against them. However there is a upside to this change because now it means they are paying attention and that means the first step has already been achieved.

BestofMedia I would like to say while this is your website it is just as much as ours as it is yours because Tom's Hardware is nothing with out the members and visitors that visit the site and not only use the site for news, forums, or benchmark charts and so on but we are also the ones who fill your piggy bank by seeing the ads and clicking on them. Tom's Hardware doesn't exist with out us.

So I am now making it official that I am boycotting clicking on any ad on this website and I ask others to do the same. The demands that I am I believe I can speak for the majority on this is bringing back the quality of Tom's Hardware that was previously here before you decided to make large changes for the worse. I fully understand that you may never be able to right the wrong of letting go of Ben and Rob and canceling second take more than likely they already found new jobs and moved on with their lives. However this isn't a excuse not to recreate the idea. These of course aren't the only problems and the rest will be pointed out by many other members I am sure.

I have just noticed that the link to the article has seem to have either re-directed to the one it goes to now or my post was edited behind my back and the link was changed. A strange form of censorship seeing how they could have just deleted this thread.

I also noticed that this part of the forum isn't getting much attention so I may post this somewhere else.

Nuke,

Feel free to write at any time to cangelini at bestofmedia dot com. I'm the managing editor here and have been striving to improve the site's editorial quality for the past seven months.

The only reason I can think posts would be deleted would be if they broke the ToS. Nobody's interested in censoring ideas that could potentially help us serve your wishes more effectively!

Thanks much, take care,
Chris

Boycott clicking on any ads? Wait, there are supposed to be ads on this 'site? LOL, block all that.

As for ToS, they could word that any way they wanted to grant power to delete, but it should never be the call of a group, let alone individual, if it is not illegal or outright troll-like harassment. It's really easy for those who have the power to censor to feel they need to exercise it, but there is actually very very little that should ever be censored with the exception of typical things like someone perpetually posting nonsensical things just to waste other's time and start flame wars, or spamming.

Oh, where IS the ToS now? Navigation is terrible, they need to fire the site designer. This site is so incredibly screwed up now, compared to a few years ago. I hope this is seen as constructive criticism, as it is turning away lots of people which is bad for the 'site.
