So, I really appreciate that there's side-by-side comparisons here, along with performance gains/losses shown.

Though, I do wonder if simply being at 4K resolution contributes to quality itself outside of the detail settings... that's something that's been a lingering question for me.

720p ultra looks godly in games like the witcher 3. its dumb but blow up ultra settings on a big screen and that wastefulness works. also it may not be discernable at the resolution that your currently rendering at but upscaling ultra definetly helps a great deal.
