a compatible 3d monitor!

hi guys ..I need your help ..
just installed the Nvidia gtx 660 ti ...

and now I wanna buy a compatible 3d monitor to run 3d games and movies ..

thought about the samsung s23a750d but I have read some articles that it's not Nvidia certified ..and the 3D won't work ..is that true ? and what other 3D monitors can I get ? in a budget of 200$

p.s : I want a 23" monitor

I doubt you could find a s23a750d. Samsung as dropped all their active 3D monitors and they aren't 3D Vision certified.

You'll wand a 3D Vision2 monitors. Perhaps the VG248QE, but it doesn't have a built in emitter. The only ones I'm aware of that still come with built in emitters are the VG278H and VG278HR, which are 27".

I personally would wait (and plan to myself), for the new VG248QE's to be released with the G-sync chip.

No, it is not compatible with Nvidia, at least not completely.

Nvidia has a bunch of 3D Vision 1 & 2 monitors. Get one of them, though Nvidia 3DTV play is compatible with some TV's. I don't know which, and they really don't either, but they do have a list of some that have been confirmed as compatible, but they aren't as good as the 3D vision 2 monitors.

These are a few monitors I'm aware of. Acer has a couple as well, but Asus and BenQ seem to be the front runners with 3D Vision. There are a few of the mentioned monitors that come with built in emitters, but most require you to buy a 3d Vision 2 kit as well.

I actually have the s23a750d as my 2nd monitor and use the software that came with the monitor in the box called TriDef 3D and it allows me to play all my games in 3D on my PC and works very well. I don't use the 3D feature anymore because I really found it cumbersome to wear 3D glasses and wear my headset simultaneously. Hope this assists you

I don't 3D anymore because I really found it cumbersome to wear 3D glasses and wear my headset simultaneously.

The only way to know is to find people who have tried, or find something that is 3D Vision ready, which don't include TV's.

3D isn't the kind of thing you want to mess around with stuff that may or may not work, simply get one of the Benq or Asus monitors and save yourself the hassle, Tridef is terrible.

The problem with 3D gaming on HDTVs is they have a considerable amount of input lag and would stay with the BenQ or ASUS 144Hz monitors. The 3D tvs are geared for movies, but the 3D monitors are aimed for gamers. If you can find a good price on that s23a750d, that is a great buy.
You may even get tired of the gimmick of 3D after a while, maybe you should look at IPS monitors which will provide you a better quality experience from color quality to better viewing angles.

I personally like it a lot for gaming. I do not like it so much for movies, though I haven't seen many. My suggestion is to wait on getting a 3D Vision monitor. Wait for G-sync, which will first show up on 3D Vision monitors. You can kill two birds with 1 stone at that time.

Headaches aren't a big issue, at least for me, as long as I can maintain 60 FPS and you properly setup convergence. I've had it for 2 years, and I still play most games with it, though not all. Lower settings with 3D vision look a lot better than max without. At least in my opinion. I will say that I do wish glasses weren't required.

Agreed, There are a few manufacturers working on glasses free 3D technology implemented in displays that will be coming in the near future and am really curious to see if you still get a punctual effect of 3D, because that would be the only way I go back to 3D again.

3D can be fun for a while, but like I mentioned before. IPS monitors are no gimmick, they provide you with just better picture quality, giving in my opinion much more immersion than any 3D setup can offer.

I wouldn't. Even if you don't get 3D now, a 660ti still doesn't max out many games today.

G-sync will also be out within a few months. It sort of is available now, with the VG248QE with an upgrade it, which currently is pricy, but soon, they'll be manufactured with it. At which point, you'll be glad you have your card, and would also be the time to try 3D Vision.

Asus VG248QE, but most don't have the G-sync chip. You have to search for the G-sync version of it. It is currently a do it yourself option. That will change, but for now, that means it is pricier.
