Do you think it is better to wait for PCI-e mobos with DDR to come out? When do you think such mobos will be out?

Should I go for a better heatsink/fan combo for my cpu?

Also I am looking to spend sub $3000 cnd (for gaming)

Any help you can give is really appricieated.

Sounds really good as long as you have the cash.
I'm not sure but maybe someone can clarify for me; the 6800 is it only the ultra that is not out or the whole line?

What I've learned is that you can't keep on waiting fro new products to come out unless your're talking about a couple of weeks. Personnally I would wait for the 939 boards to mature a bit and wait for a selection of motherboards. That's my opinion but if you want the latest go for it. Just buy what you can afford, and waiting will only cause anxiety. If you want PCI-e, you can always upgrade your mobo/vid card later on.

If you can't wait, go for the ATi X800. You will get slightly better performance, it will only take up one slot, and it will only use 1 12v molex connector instead of 2. IN my opinion, the ATi is a better buy. More power while consuming less.

I like to compare Nvidia and Ati to American and Japanese cars respectivley. Nvidia is like american muscle car that has pure horsepower, but has no grace or style. Ati uses less horsepower, but better engineering to compete on equal grounds, much like a souped up import.

So, if you can't wait, go X800. The only downfall I see to this card is that it's not DX 9.0c ready; we don;t even know yet if this will make a difference.

I'd at least wait for the nForce3 250 Socket 939 board to come out before making a Socket 939 purchase.
