I've been thinking about this for a while, but is it possible to create a console priced PC (~$300) that will play console games (their PC versions ofc) at low-mid settings with performance that is at least on par with a console (30+ fps)?

(On a related note, what is the most demanding console game that is available on PC?)

I recently built my own PC, so I don't really need build help. Just wanted to get your thoughts on this.

EDIT:
Here's what I came up with, but its missing the OS. =\

I couldn't see your wishlist on newegg because I'm browsing from my smartphone.

The build listed below would deliver a GOOD performance in PC games :

MoBo : ASRock H61M-VS - $59.99
RAM : Corsair 1x4GB DDR3 1333 - $22.99

Graphics Card : PowerColor AX6670 1GBK3-H Radeon HD 6670 1GB - $59.99 - http://newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131440

Hard Disk : Seagata Barracuda .12 500GB SATA II - $25.99

Power Supply : Corsair CX 430W - $34.99 - http://newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026

Case : GIGABYTE gz-ph1a3 ATX Mid Tower - $21.99 - http://newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811233061

Total : $350 after rebates

^^

I know the advantage of dual channel memory, but that MoBo has only 2 RAM slots. So you can't add another one in the future if you go for 2x2GB. So, getting a 4GB in future is a better option IMO. Then it'll be 2x4GB.
