I just got my new mobo and cpu today listed in my specs below except they sent me a 3200 for the price of a 3000 :) with HT set to 800. Anyhow, why do you set the HT to 800 and the Multiplier to 9.0x? I think that the muliplier is set lower so that you can achieve a higher FSB at the same CPU clock speeds, but i thought i'd ask. Next why do i set the HT to 800 and exactly what is it? Is it part of the onbard memory contoller?
Here are my results, so far i got 9.5x multiplier and 270 fsb with 2.568GHZ at 1.5v(Vcore) and 2.8mem(which OCZ,Corsair,Kingston all cover warranty up to 2.9). Is my Vcore to high for A64's? I know the P4's should never be past 1.7, but what is the general voltage limit of the A64's? I would also like an opinion, i set the multiplier to 9, then upped the FSB to 285(to bring the CPU back up to 2568GHz, but it gave me blue screen, so to me this seems its just the limit of my ram, since the CPU works 2568@270 fsb. Correct me if you think otherwise. Thanks in advance.

Don't use half multipliers. They impact performance negatively. Setting HTT to 800 or 4X is necassary becaus when you overclock to say 250 FSB your actual HTT speed will be back to 1000. Going over 1000 generally can cause instability and crashes. You should use 10*260 at 1.55V an mem 1:1. That will yield better results imo. But as my problem is, II'm almost certain that with your setup your psu is not up to the task I'm getting an OCZ powerstream 520 or 600W as soon as they get available in local shops.

Thx. I think you may be right about the PS, so far I can get 255 FSB with the multiplier at 10 and 1.55vcore with mem setting at "1:1(DDR200)". That's not bad at all though considering my 380w ps and stock cooler, it tops out at 53c in Prime95. That will be good for now, its not worth it to me to buy a $100+ PS just to get another 5mhz FSB. Maybe i'll get the 520 when i get watercooling.

Also i think you are wrong about half multipliers. My CS Score is lower with your setup than it is with my setup because with the half multiplier i can get the full FSB oc of my ram. So CS run 130 fps with the 2.55GHzx255fsb(10multiplier) and 146 with my 2.525GHzx266FSB(9.5multiplier).

Actually your RAM is going at 255MHz in both...

The way the half multiplier works is it'll run the HTT at whatever you set it at, but it'll run the RAM at CPU/(the next whole multiplier).

Maxtor disgraces the six letters that make Matrox.

I think I understand now. Sorry. I just tryed it at 2.4x9 and 266 fsb and it scores the same as 2.525x9.5 at 266 fsb!!! And it runs butter smooth at the 2.4 with the whole multiplier. I just wish Asus supported higher ram voltages, my ram wont go past its rated max of 266 fsb, almost wish i went with DDR550, cause my CPU can take up to 2.55 stable. Oh well, its still running as fast as a A64 4000 wich costs $400 +.
