Does anybody know whether having a carpet in the room can affect the dust intake of a case cooler? More generally, can a carpet speed up the dust settling in a computer?

If so, is it appropriate to use a fan filter in the intake fan? Can I use a tissue instead or would that trouble the airflow excessively?

I think it will increase the dust but you wouldnt be able to tell
Either filter or especially a tissue will slow down your airflow and make your case temps higher
Just clean the case out every 4-6 months
I use a fan (1 minute and your all done)

Maybe if you never vacuumed, . But seriously, yes carpeted rooms may tend to have a little more dust than a tiled room, but not sure if that would really speed up the dust collection of your computer, unless it is sitting on the floor. If it is up ontop a desk, its more likely to be dust coming out of the duct work in your house.

Anyways, filters do help some, but they do hurt airflow. Also even with a filter, your computer isn't going to stay dust free. Under normally conditions you really shouldn't have to clean out your computer, once every 6-12 months, depending on the enviroment.

They sell cans of compressed air, just for blowing dust out of computer cases.
