A couple of questions about DVI and HDMI

Hello , so I am going to build a computer sometime this week and I bought a 144Hz monitor , and the problem is that I read that HDMI will only support up until 60Hz or I need HDMI 1.3 to get 144Hz however people suggested that a dual link DVI is much better so I searched and found that it apparently doesn't carry audio ? I don't understand what does that mean , does it mean when I plug in my headphone I won't get any sound ? someone please explain it to me I really need to know , thank you.

Finally please tell me what is better HDMI 1.3 or DVI Dual Link for gaming because I don't know which is better ..

if your monitor does not have speakers then you don't need to worry about DVI not having audio. you headphones and speakers that use the round little plug will work fine. HDMI has audio because its really mainly used for TV(which of course have speakers)
