I need some advice/help with my ram.
MB: MSi 990fxa gaming
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB 1600 MHz

1. Task manager only show 800 MHz even though CPU-Z show 800MHz and bios show 1600 MHz. Yes XMP is enabled.

2. Is it okay to install ram on 2 & 4 instead of 1 & 3. Am I losing any features or speed on 2 & 4? Motherboard manual said to install it on 1 & 3, but with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 the ram does not fit.

Solution
I'd go with what CPU-Z shows which should be 800 in the memory tab (DDR (DOUBLE data rate) so the 800 x 2 = 1600 effective), task manager can be odd and it depends on how the BIOS is. If you want to run in 1-3 the height of the 212 EVO is adjustable, I've run Trident X under them on many rigs, though 2-4 should be OK and you won't 'lose' anything 😉

800MHz in CPU-Z is fine but task manager usually show the full speed and it does not for some reason.

Windows 10 Pro, it says 800MHz.
It normally show the correct and full speed of my ram which should be 1600MHz.
XMP is enabled.
