Having some issues with a drive.
I think it keeps unmounting itself which in turn means I can't access any files on it. It shows up in disk management sometimes and sometimes doesn't. I can see some the folders on explorer but if I select any of them I get the message 'A device which does not exist was specified'.

This drive is a 2TB Samsung 980 Pro. I've had this issue before with the same drive which was then replaced with my current one and it comes and goes.
I have just completely reinstalled windows and still have the same issue. I've tried removing a drive incase 4 drives was too much for some reason and still have the issue.

I really don't know what the issue could be. I've updated BIOS and have tried various Command Prompts to check drives and system health etc.
Restarting my PC also seems to solve the issue for a short amount of time but the issue always comes back.
Don't really want to have to do a full reinstall of windows just to get this one drive working but not sure what else to do at this point.

Just to point out this has happened with 2 different 980 Pro drives now and 2 separate motherboards. I had originally replace the 980 Pro as I thought it was faulty and later down the line upgraded my motherboard but the issue has persisted across them all.

Just really want a permanent fix now so I can actually use the drive properly.

BIOS Version 7D52v18
Checked Samsung Magician and drive is up to date.

PC Specs:
Ryzen 7 5800x
64gb DDR4 3200mhz Ram
MSI MPG x570s Carbon max wifi
Corsair RM750x PSU
Gigabyte 4070ti

I've updated BIOS
What BIOS version are you on?

You didn't' mention which slots the SSD in question is populating on the motherboard. If you're able to get the SSD to work, you should see if Samsung's Magician app has any firmware updates for the SSD. Might be a good idea to also take the drive and drop it into another known working motherboard.
