Question A dumb question about 12pin PSU/GPU adaptors and 6Pin Pcie Cords

I got a dumb question.

Just upgraded my PSU from a Thermaltake Smart BM3 750 W 80+ Bronze Certified to a Corsair RM850e 850 Watt 80 Plus Gold
(About damn time I threw away that bronze for a gold)

But the version i have doesnt come with a 12pin slot on the PSU, however, I have a 12pin adaptor that came with the GPU (4070ti super)
Short and simple question
How exactly do I plug this in?

Do i connect 1 Pcie plug into the PSU and simply connect both ends to each adaptor slot?
or
Do I connect an enterily new Pcie plug into the back of the PSU and connect that into the 2nd end of the adaptor? (essentially having two plugs)

I heard folks say, do not "pigtail" the adaptors, no clue if this was what they were referring to or not. Just trying not to burn up the GPU or start a fire.

Check the photos for context (please pardon our dust).

New PSU Box
1 Cord attached to the adaptor (Do i only plug one 6pin Pcie cord and feed the 2nd end into the 2nd part of the adaptor?)
Back of the PSU with everything plugged in ( Do I plug in another Pcie cord and feed it to the 2nd end of the adaptor?)
Another picture of the adaptor

Right on the PSU box it says ATX 3.0/PCIe 5.0 which means it absolutely should have come with a 12VHPWR cable. I believe the cable for that one is two 8-pin connectors for the PSU side with the 12+4-pin on the other side.

If you do not have this cable and bought it new then you need to get the PSU replaced.

If you bought it used/open box and expected there to be missing cables then do as SkyNetRising suggests.

Yes, all inputs to the 12VHPWR adapter need to be connected to a 6+2 PCIe connector. If you don't, the sense pins will tell the GPU to only draw 150W. That adapter is only rated for 300W, thus the two 8-pin connections.

You should also be able to get a cable directly from Corsair if you don't have one included with your PSU.

RM850e is a Type-4 PSU:

This will let you comfortably run all but the highest end GPUs that use 12VHPWR. I say that because the 850W unit really shouldn't be running a 4090 or 5090.
