1. Are 2011 boards backwards compatible with 1155 CPUs?

2.What's the main difference between i7 2600 and i7 2600k if I don't overclock? Main use will be video editing, but some games might be played (minecraft, rts games, fps games).

3.Finally, what's THE best processor for video editing under 300$ ? The total computer budget is 1100$.

I want that machine to last at least 3-5 years. Is Ivy bridge worth the wait, like Sandy bridge was?

If you need a lower TDP than yes, but no.

2. Zero diff, the K is just an unlocked muliplier to allow better overclocking
3. 2600 (non-K) if ur not going to overclock.

Ivy's main draw card is its HD4000 series onboard graphics, actual raw cpu performance is nothing much diff. as video editing ur going to be using a dedicated card its no real great gain to wait for IVY
