A good 1k build for graphics/gaming?

I mainly just game and use the internet. Not much more than that, what would be a good build for 1k?

Approximate Purchase Date: A month or two

Budget Range: $1,000 (I don't know who could make a PC to my specifications for me, Tiger Direct? Do they do custom PCs?)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming/Internet and music.

Are you buying a monitor: No.


Parts to Upgrade: New computer.

Do you need to buy OS: I believe I don't have the stuff to install an OS, so yes.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Tigerdirect, Newegg.

Location: Jacksonville, Florida.

Parts Preferences: ATI/Nvidia for graphics cards and an intel processor, not picky about the other parts.

Overclocking: No.

SLI or Crossfire: No.

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: Need a nice looking case, maybe quiet? Doesn't need to be quiet.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Can't run most games.

Overclocking.. no? id really reccomend you reconsider this since its so easy and around the same price! ill show the different components for overclocking

Scared of getting my comp screwed up by overclocking honestly, I don't wanna be like "oh, what's this!?" and end up overheating my comp.

Oh! systems now come with 'turbo' modes, where it is overclocked so it will run hotter on a stock cooler, but it automatically changes all the settings its self to make sure theyre the right value, lets you get more out of your system and you dont have to know the complex bits to change overclocking is alot simpler than people realise and theres loads of guides to get more for your money with a better cooler.

Build for overclocking:
Cpu: i5-3570k
Mobo: z77 asrock extreme4
Gpu: radeon hd 7970
Ram: 8gb
HDD: 1TB western digital black or blue
SSD: not necessary. 100 bucks more if you really want it
Case: some sort of case. Whatever fits you. Cases are more of a personality thing.
Psu: 600-650w 80 plus bronze psu. Seasonic, corsair, or xfx brand.
Cooler: hyper 212 evo (no need for water cooling. If you are afraid of overclocking you arent going to go far enough to need water cooling. Plus 4.2ghz 3570k will shred anything apart and air cooling will be fine)
OS: windows 8 or windows 7. Whichever you prefer.
Build with the SSD is $1300ish. Without it, it is $1200ish.

Non-overclocking build:
Cpu: i5-3570 non-k version
Mobo: asrock pro4
Gpu: gtx 670 or 7970. About same when stock
Ram: same
Case: same
Cooler: stock with the processor
